Train Going West

Train Going West  (C. Duck Anderson and Nate Richert)

There’s a breeze that’s blowing at my back

As I follow the westbound track

Gonna leave it all behind

Hoping all will heal with time

The engine rolls and chugs on beat

And I curl right up into my seat

My thoughts drift off as I fade away

Into the pastures of a brighter day

Forget now the weights of a weary mind

Westward ho and on down the line

When I left you behind

I still felt your lips as you waved goodbye

And I believe I’ll get by

When I turn in okay, I know I’ll turn out fine

Just gliding through the cold

Lord knows I’ve never done what I’ve been told
